Hong Kong International Conducting Workshop 2020
The Hong Kong International Conducting Workshop 2020 successfully took place from 12-17 January 2020, where the 7 participants took part in an intense and productive programme under the guidance of the 2 Master Conductors. We look forward to seeing their continued development and success.
Workshop overview
For Participants:
- Receive instructions and valuable insights from the master conductors
- Conduct a professional symphony orchestra
- The workshop will be open to a maximum of 8 Participants (age 40 or under):
- Each Participant will receive approximately 100 minutes of podium time complemented by a video review
- Each Participant will receive a video of their participation
- 3 Participants selected by the master conductors will have an opportunity to conduct in a Showcase at the end of the workshop
For Observers:
- Part of the workshop (14 – 17 January) will be open to Observers

- 11:00-12:00: Briefing session with Margaret Yang (CEO of Hong Kong Sinfonietta)
- 15:00: Attend Hong Kong Sinfonietta Good Music for Kids concert at Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall
13 January 2020 (Monday)
- 10:00-13:00: Pre-podium Class with Yip Wing-sie
- 14:00-17:00: Pre-podium Class with Christoph Poppen
