Kyrian FRIEDENBERG

At 24 years old, American-Canadian conductor Kyrian Friedenberg is rapidly gaining the attention of orchestras internationally. Winner of the Neeme Järvi Prize 2022 at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, he is the youngest winner in the award’s history and will be invited to give his début with the Kammerorchester Basel. He has conducted the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Orchestre de Picardie, Gstaad Festival Orchestra, Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn and Richmond Symphony. He has worked in masterclasses with conductors including Jaap van Zweden, Mikko Franck, Pascal Rophé, Arie van Beek and Johannes Schlaefli.

Born and raised in New York City, Friedenberg completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at McGill University in Montréal, Canada in 2020, and is presently a student of Alain Altinoglu at the Paris Conservatoire.
